Book Donations

**We will be accepting donations through December 31, 2019, and resuming March 1st, 2020. Please plan ahead! We appreciate your donations, but have nowhere to process and store them during the winter months.**

The Bridgton Public Library welcomes your donated books, audio books, DVDs and puzzles.  Depending on the quality and condition of the donated items, they will be added to the library collection, put into the Friends book sale, or given away.  Before dropping off your donations, please be sure they comply with the following guidelines.

Acceptable donations

  • Recent hardcover fiction and non-fiction in good condition
  • Hardcover classics in very good condition
  • Hardcover award winners in very good condition
  • Children’s books in very good condition
  • DVD movies & Audiobook CDs
  • Paperbacks in good condition
  • Puzzles in good condition and with all pieces

Unacceptable donations

  • Condensed books
  • Encyclopedias and textbooks
  • Cassettes (audio or video) or software
  • Magazines
  • Older hardcover and paperback fiction and non-fiction
  • Items in poor physical condition, for example: broken spine, moldy, water damaged, mildewed, missing or yellowed pages, etc.
