Welcome May

Welcome May

Welcome Spring! Start planning your gardens and enjoy your time outside. Looking for some book recommendations? Ask our staff, we are here to help.

Share your favorite thing about Bridgton Public Library with our special scrapbook stations, available in youth services and the main library through the month of May.

We are happy to offer our Family Dewey Decimal Adventure. Knowing how to find books in the library is like learning a secret code! Through fun games and challenges, children can learn all the mysteries of the Dewey Decimal classification system we use to organize our nonfiction sections.

This is a drop-in anytime program to be self-directed by families of grammar school children.

We are a National Digital Equity Center partner, and happy to help you sign up for online classes they offer. We also have 24/7 wi-fi and Chromebooks available for checkout. Interested in checking out a mobile hotspot? We have those available, too.

The Bridgton Public Library is a part of the Chickadee Library Consortium including the Harrison, Naples, Casco, and Raymond libraries. We share our resources and collections to support all of the communities we serve. At least one of these libraries is open each day of the week, and a library card from any of these five libraries will grant you access to the collections of the entire consortium.

We have free or discounted entry passes available for The Children’s Museum, The Southworth Planetarium, and The Portland Museum of Art to check out. Stop by the Main Circulation Desk for more information and to check out a pass. The Chickadee Library Consortium also has passes to Maine State Parks, the Coastal Botanical Gardens, and other attractions as well.

We look forward to seeing you at the library!

Sincerely,

Bridgton Public Library Staff

Celebrate National Library Week at BPL

Celebrate National Library Week at BPL

National Library Week (April 6-12) is the perfect time to celebrate reading, lifelong learning, and community here at Bridgton Public Library.  Looking for some recommendations? Ask us, we are here to help.

And take a few minutes to share your favorite thing about Bridgton Public Library with our special scrapbook stations, available in youth services and the main library. We are gathering pictures and quotes from our community. And if you are not particularly crafty (and I am not myself), just leave your pictures and quotes with our awesome staff, and they will create an amazing scrapbook page for you.

I am also taking this moment to say thank you to all of the people who use our library, whether it is for discussing books, enjoying some community crafting, checking your email and using our wi-fi for study and work, or just to see old friends, you are all the reason I love my job. Happy Library Week.

Amy Stone, Library Director
