Monthly Highlights

Storywalks are in full swing at Pondicherry Park this season, located on the ADA accessible trail. Currently, we have Forest by Brendan Kearney, with another installment later in the fall. Stop by the trail for a walk the whole family can enjoy at one of Bridgton’s most beloved trails.

Loon Echo Land Trust is a wonderful partner organization for the library. Not only do they help us install and maintain the Storywalk in Pondicherry Park, they also provided funding to update our Audubon Nature Explorer Backpacks. Check out these sturdy backpacks full of information on nature topics for the whole family. Learn more about Birds, Plants, Wildlife, and Rocks and Gems. Perfect for any trail, or your own backyard.

The Bridgton Public Library is a part of the Chickadee Library Consortium including the Harrison, Naples, Casco, and Raymond libraries. We share our resources and collections to support all of the communities we serve. At least one of these libraries is open each day of the week, and a library card from any of these five libraries will grant you access to the collections of the entire consortium.

We have free and discounted entry passes available for select sites, including but not limited to: The Children’s Museum, The Southworth Planetarium, Rufus Porter Museum, and The Portland Museum of Art to check out. Stop by the Main Circulation Desk for more information and to check out a pass. The Chickadee Library Consortium also has passes to Maine State Parks, the Coastal Botanical Gardens, and other attractions.

What a Fun Summer We’ve Had—Thanks to You! 🌞

As the days begin to cool and the leaves start to turn, we’re reflecting on what a wonderful summer it’s been here at Bridgton Public Library. From Storytimes and book sales, to outdoor adventures and community programs, we’ve loved every moment spent with you.

We are thrilled to share with you the latest news and updates here each month in an effort to build connection and make a positive impact in our community.

Firstly, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our donors, friends, and trustees who have continued to support us through these busy summer months. Your generosity and dedication have allowed us to keep our programs running smoothly and effectively, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to our community through the fall.

We are also excited to announce that our Book Shed Sale will return this month with the help of our incredible Friends of the Library. This event is a fun and interactive way to support our cause while scoring great reads for the colder months that are sure to keep you busy on those long winter days ahead. So mark your calendars for September 13th, 10am-1pm. We hope to see you there!

Our Library exists to create positive change in our community and serve as a cultural enrichment center. We work to provide access to educational, informational, and recreational resources in a friendly, safe atmosphere, and are here to respond to the changing needs of our community through every season.

Now, we’re looking ahead to fall! 🍁 Cozy reads, autumn-themed programs, and new opportunities to connect are just around the corner. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for more upcoming events, book clubs, and family-friendly activities that will help us ease into the new season together.

Sincerely,
