June Update

June Update

Yay, summer! We are happy to see longer days, a little more sun, and everything in bloom. Our courtyard is lovely and our gardens are growing. Please enjoy our beautiful outside and our welcoming inside.  Masks are requested while you are in the building, and we are still limiting people to 30-minute visits.

Just a reminder to those who are returning to us, no-contact services are still available by request.  We are happy to package up your holds and bring them out to you or mail them to your home. Please call (207-647-2472) or email (bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us) for more information.

Our To-Go bags are ready for pick up. This month we have Kids Culture To-Go: What Makes a Country, Storytime Crafts To-Go, Adult Kitchen To-Go: Grill Rubs, and a few Adult Garden To-Go: Seeds left.

The Friends are planning their annual book sale for Saturday, July 10th in the Library parking lot by the Book Shed.

Our Summer Reading Challenge will run June 21-August 21st and we have something for kids, teens, and adults!

Our Lego Master Builder Construction Zone is ready for lego builders. Please register your child online or at the circulation desk.

Please remember we have special collections to check out (crockpot, air fryer, and more), as well as museum and park passes.

Our library is here to make sure everyone has new things to try, places to explore, Internet access to keep you connected, and great books to read.

Stay safe and well. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Online Workshops in February

Online Workshops in February

While we cannot offer in-person workshops here, we have gathered together some online resources for you to help you get inspired, get involved, learn something new, and part of a different kind of community.

The UMaine Cooperative Extension has an awesome lineup of online workshops, with a suggested donation of $5 per session. Can’t make a donation? That’s okay, we’ll make one on your behalf. We will make a donation for any patron who brings in or emails a copy of your program registration.

We have an innovative new membership here at the Library! We have partnered with the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance to offer online workshops for up to 5 library patrons at member prices. If the member prices are a little more than you can afford, please get in touch with the Library for our scholarship program.

Please remember that Maine 4-H provides hands-on educational and leadership opportunities for nearly 30,000 youth in Maine. They emphasize the importance of building life skills and make it really fun to teach kids some hands-on knowledge. They have free online workshops, including 4-H Tuesday trivia, Passport Around the World SPIN Club, and Public Speaking Workshops, STEM projects, and so much more!

The Portland Museum of Art, Maine State Museum, and Maine Wildlife Park are currently closed, but all have some wonderful online exhibits and virtual tours.

Stay safe and well, and have a great time exploring some online activities.
