Friends of BPL Annual Book Sale Update

Friends of BPL Annual Book Sale Update

The Friends of the Bridgton Public Library did not have the Annual Used Book Sale during 2020, usually held in July, due to COVID 19.

The Friends are discussing a possible future date for this year’s sale and have found other smaller ways to make used books available for purchase to our many supporters. We have our Book Sale rack, available upstairs by the Main Circulation Desk, which is regularly restocked with hardcover, paperback, and mass paperback titles at discounted prices.

At this time we are not accepting donations, but starting April 1st, 2021 we will be able to accept donations at the Library. Please call before you bring your donations over to make sure we are open on the day you plan on coming in and that we have space for your donation.

Thank you for your understanding during this unusual period in our nation’s public health history.

We are looking for local artists to display in the Yellow Wall Gallery. Started by the Friends of Bridgton Library in 2017, this wall is dedicated to showing the works and talents of our local artists. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, needlework, fabric and fiber arts, modeling, mosaic, and carvings are all welcome additions to our Resource Room. Help us create thoughtful, inspiring, beautiful spaces for our community by displaying your work, whether amateur or professional. We are looking to have a new exhibit to display for January 2021 to inspire us through the winter!

Works will hang from a gallery rail and wire, or be displayed on the top of our bookshelf in the Resource Room. The artist must deliver, hang, and remove works on the agreed-upon dates. The artist may prepare a biography and/or exhibitor’s statement, and we will make sure to announce our exhibitors on our web post, Facebook page, and Instagram.
