Dear Library Family,

Here at BPL we are always striving to meet your needs.  Currently, Miss Sam is hoping to apply for a grant to aid us in gaining materials to support our growing Homeschool community.  In order to have enough data to make our application compelling, we have compiled a survey to give us the information sponsors will be looking for.

What’s in it for you?  In addition to helping us gain materials to directly benefit you and your students, we are raffling two $50.00 gift cards to Bridgton Books

Your email – provided for the purposes of the raffle, will NOT remain associated with your responses.  The survey is completely anonymous.

I encourage you to forward and share this survey to fellow homeschoolers who use the Bridgton Public Library, or who would use BPL if we had the homeschool support they need.

This survey is only for those who are currently homeschooling or who have homeschooled in the past. This is important to ensure that we are collecting accurate data on your needs!

Thank you all, and Happy Reading!
Miss Samantha

Of Note for October

Of Note for October

We are very happy to have our doors open here at the Library. Thank you all for your patience and support during the past 6 months as we have transitioned and figured out new ways to serve our community. Our Walk-In Service Hours are T, W, F: 10-4, Sat: 10-2, with no-contact pickup available T, W, F: 4-5, Sat: 2-3.

******************************************

The Friends of Bridgton Public Library will be accepting book donations on Saturday, October 3rd from 9:00-noon, with a rain date of Saturday, October 10th 9:00-noon. Please bring your items directly to the Book Shed, at the end of our parking lot, and we will gladly find new homes for these books.

*******************************************

Please remember we have Wi-Fi 24/7 with our Courtyard and Parking Lot networks. We will be leaving our tables and chairs out in the courtyard through the end of October, as we have limited space and limited time available indoors, and we know a lot of you need access to the Internet. We will be upgrading our network during the winter to improve service.

While we are not able to offer our traditional programs in the meeting room this fall, we would like to help you gather and create in different ways. And so we have gathered together some online resources for you to help you get inspired, get involved, learn something new, and part of a different kind of community.

The UMaine Cooperative Extension has put together an awesome lineup of online workshops, with a suggested donation of $5 per session. Can’t make a donation? That’s okay, we’ll make one on your behalf. We will make a donation for any patron who brings in or emails a copy of your program registration.

This year will also be a different kind of school year. For those whose kids are home more, there are some great resources for keeping kids of all ages busy and learning by doing. Miss Samantha is doing a fantastic job here of getting resources up on our website and putting together activity bags for you to do at home. Here are just a few online videos, workshops, and communities to explore:
