Book It Ahead… Local Authors at BPL

We are very pleased to offer an local author series starting in April. To celebrate 200 years of Maine statehood, 100 years of women’s suffrage, and local talent here in our neighborhood we are kicking it off with Anne Gass. Anne will be here to discuss her book Voting Down the Rose on Saturday, April 18th, 1:00-2:00 in our Main Reading Room. 

Other authors in our series include Robert W. Spencer, a Waterford resident who is publishing his second novel this spring, and Matthew Langdon Cost whose novels include Mainely Power and Joshua Chamberlain and the Civil War: At Every Hazard. Mr. Spencer will be here Saturday, May 16th, 1:00-2:00. Mr. Cost will be here Saturday, June 20th, 1:00-2:00.

Maine Bicentennial and Maine State Museum Pass

Maine Bicentennial and Maine State Museum Pass

Bridgton Public Library has just received our 2020 Maine State Museum Pass and it is available for our library members to use. This pass will admit up to four people free of charge. The pass is for families or individuals, and not for scouts, camps, or other groups. Please call of come up to the Main Circulation Desk and we will reserve a pass for you. We can issue one pass for any day the Musuem is open.

Museum Hours are Tuesday-Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm, and CLOSED Sunday and Monday.

The year 2020 marks 200 years since Maine became a state. To mark this historic occasion, the museum’s calendar, galleries, and programs will be full of events and exhibits that celebrate Maine, past and present. To start, the museum will open its year-long bicentennial exhibition, Regional Struggle, National Story: Maine’s Path to Statehood on Saturday March 14. And that’s just the beginning!  Happy Birthday, Maine!
