Maine Authors at the BPL

Maine Authors at the BPL

We are very pleased to offer another Maine Author Series through the spring beginning in April.

Please join us on Saturday, April 18th, 1:00-2:00 in our Main Reading Room for a reading and discussion by the author of Voting Down the Rose: Florence Brooks Whitehouse and Maine’s Fight for Woman Suffrage.  We’ll explore Florence’s life up to 1914 and her leadership in moving suffrage forward in Maine. Slides of historic photos accompany this lively talk, which lasts about 40 minutes.

Robert W. Spencer will be back for a reading and discussion of his new novel, Prospects on Saturday, May 16th.

The third author in this series is Matthew Cost, who has written several historical novels. His most recent is I Am Cuba; Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution. Previous works include Joshua Chamberlain and the Civil War. He will be at the BPL on Saturday, June 20th.

All of our Maine Authors will be in the BPL Main Reading Room, and each event is from 1:00-2:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Registration is requested for these events.
