Author Event: Irene Drago 7/24

Author Event: Irene Drago 7/24

Please join us in welcoming local authors here at Bridgton Public Library through the summer.

  • Saturday, July 24, 1-2 pm: Irene Drago (The Maine Point)
  • Award-winning author Irene M. Drago grew up in a Navy family. Before moving to Maine, she worked for the Defense Department as a Russian analyst, earned a Master of Arts degree in Spanish language and literature, and taught at the high school and college level. When she fell under the spell of a historic home in Bath, she convinced her husband to follow her to the coast of Maine where she was inspired to write Daughters of Long Reach and its sequel, The Maine Point. Ms. Drago is the recipient of a Next Generation Indie Book Award and a Spirit of Bath Award. In the summer, she and her husband enjoy piloting their boat around Casco Bay with their children and grandchildren.

Each award-winning author will read from selected works and be available for discussion and book signing to follow. Light refreshments will be served.  We ask that people pre-register here: Maine Authors 2021 before the event to make sure we have enough seats and treats. Copies of books will be available for sale at the events as well as at Bridgton Books before and after the events.

Summer Reading

Summer Reading

We are off to a great start here for our Summer Reading 2021. So far we have had 28 Summer Reading Kids and Teens bags picked up, and have a few more for those who may want to join in the prizes and raffles. And for adults we have reading logs and raffle tickets, too! We want everyone to learn something new, explore a new author, and have a chance to earn some great prizes from local businesses. Happy Summer!
