Looking forward to June

Looking forward to June

This year’s Summer Reading theme is: Adventure Begins at Your Library. We have all kinds of adventure books across various genres for adults, youth, and children to choose from. As always, our staff is happy to provide recommendations. Stop by the library to begin your summer adventures!

Additionally, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Bridgton Library, we still have a limited number of free Pre-K Summer Reading Kits available containing a set of 14 books each. These kits will be available to the first 30 families who sign up for our Summer Reading Program, which begins this month. Stop by the Youth Circulation Desk for more information and to sign up.

This month, the Bridgton Public Library will get to experience some of the outdoors, indoors! Join us Tuesday, June 18 at 10:30 am for an interactive presentation on Predators from the Chewonki Traveling Natural History Program in the youth services area. Space is limited, so please contact us to sign up.

The Bridgton Public Library is a part of the Chickadee Library Consortium including the Harrison, Naples, Casco, and Raymond libraries. We share our resources and collections to support all of the communities we serve. In addition to over 109,000 items in our shared catalog, we also offer museum and park passes, special kits and items, and helpful and thoughtful reference service. At least one of these libraries is open every day of the week, and a library card from any of these five libraries will grant you access to the collections of the entire consortium. Now that our courtyard is open, you can utilize our outdoor space and free 24/7 WiFi, which is available in both the courtyard and the parking lot.

Please mark your calendars, Saturday June 8th the Friends of Bridgton Library will be accepting book donations at the Book Shed between 12:00-3:30 pm.

We have passes available for The Children’s Museum, The Maine Wildlife Park, The Southworth Planetarium, and The Portland Museum of Art to check out. Stop by the Main Circulation Desk for more information.

Please note the book lists of the month listed to the left, which can be found in our online catalog, including: Juneteenth, Knit in Public Day, LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, and Oceans Month. Happy Summer, and happy reading!
