September Newsletter

We are enjoying the harvest, as well as the warm days and slightly cooler nights. Please come check out our gardening, canning, and preserving books, or try our food dehydrator and preserve cooker if you don’t have your own. Need some more hands-on instruction? Register for the Preserving the Maine Harvest Webinar series that runs August through October and the Library will cover your costs. Just let us know you registered, and as long as you have an account with us we will make a payment on your behalf.

Kids and parents are getting ready for school, and the library is here with lots of resources for everyone. Check out our recommended reading lists, activities, and study guides.  Join us on Fridays for storytime here at the Library from 10-11 am. We will have a story, a craft, and a snack to share. Racheal, Alana, and Alicia will all be there to help caregivers and kids with their activities.

We support engaged lifelong learning and activity and are excited to offer a Community Swap in our courtyard for Outdoor Gear/Sports Equipment. Do you have some older items you’ve replaced that are still in good condition? Bring them on in and let someone else enjoy. Have kids who have outgrown their cleats and sports gear and don’t know what to do with them? We’ll find a good home for them. Remember, anything you donate is going to give someone else a chance to be active.

Come on in to the library and try Bendable Maine; learn more about this life-long learning portal featuring local, state, and federal resources and experts for all Maine residents to explore their interests, share their passions, and learn new skills.

We have plenty of recommended reading lists, and our staff is always available and happy to talk about their favorites! Try a new type of book, learn about a new topic, listen to an audiobook, or download an ebook. Racheal is available Friday afternoons 2-4 pm each week for one-on-one technology assistance. Happy Reading!

Sincerely,

Amy Stone, Library Director
