May is Here!

May is Here!

May is here, and with it comes the beauty of spring in the Lakes Region. The days are growing longer, gardens are beginning to wake, and the welcome songs of returning birds fill the air once again. After a stretch of chilly temperatures and rainy days, we’re looking ahead to warmer afternoons, blooming landscapes, and all the simple joys this season brings.

At Bridgton Public Library, May is a wonderful time to explore, connect, and discover something new. Whether you’re searching for your next great read, visiting one of our thoughtfully curated displays, or joining us for one of our many programs, there’s something for everyone this month. From storytimes and creative take-home crafts to community gatherings and fresh spring inspiration, we hope you’ll find plenty to enjoy.

This month, we’re also celebrating Mother’s Day and Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month with special displays, recommended reads, and opportunities to reflect, learn, and honor the many voices and experiences that enrich our community.

As planting season begins and the natural world comes alive around us, we invite you to stop by the library and see what’s growing here, too. Browse our latest staff picks, discover a new favorite author, or simply spend a little time in a place designed for curiosity, creativity, and connection.

We’re still reflecting on a truly wonderful National Library Week and the many special moments we shared together. Thank you to our incredible staff, whose creativity and care helped make the week so memorable, and to our patrons, whose photos, quotes, and memories filled our scrapbooks with meaning. Like spring itself, National Library Week reminded us of the growth, renewal, and simple joys that come from gathering as a community. We are so grateful to share this space with you, and we look forward to all the moments still to come.

Here’s to a beautiful May filled with sunshine, stories, connection, and new beginnings. We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors.
