Welcome June!

This month we invite readers of all ages to join us for another season of Summer Reading at the Library! Summer Reading logs will be available with our official Summer Reading Kickoff starting June 16th. Throughout the season, readers in the Chickadee Library Consortium and across Maine will be exploring this year’s Read ME selections, The Islanders by Lewis Robinson and The Gardener at the End of the World by Margot Anne Kelley, creating a shared reading experience that connects communities through books and conversation. Completed reading logs should be returned by August 15th, and Summer Reading prize drawings will be announced on August 18th. We look forward to reading along with our community all summer long!

Here’s what’s happening in the month of June and a glimpse of our activities this season.

All Month Long:

• Technology Help: Every Tues, Wed, Fri – 2pm-4pm in the Resource Room
• Outreach Book Drop Off: June 30th, starting at 10am

Monthly Meetings:

• Wednesday, June 10th: Friends of the Library Meeting, 9am by Zoom
• Tuesday, June 16th: Board of Trustees, 5pm in Meeting Room and by Zoom

Book Clubs:

• Nonfiction Book Group: Wednesday, June 10th, 10am – 11am. Discussing From Here to Eternity by Caitlin Doughty & Landis Blair
• Bookies Book Group: Wednesday, June 24th, 3pm – 4pm Discussing Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano

Youth Community Groups:

We partner with OUT Maine to provide the following programs:

• Fruit Loops

• Youth Dungeon & Dragons
