Author Events at BPL

Author Events at BPL

Please join us in welcoming local authors here at Bridgton Public Library through the summer.

  • Saturday, July 24, 1-2 pm: Irene Drago (The Maine Point)
  • Saturday, August 21, 2-3 pm: Gregory Brown (The Lowering Days)
  • Saturday, August 28, 1-2 pm: Matthew Cost (Wolf Trap)
  • Saturday, September 25, 1-2 pm: Lincoln Paine (The Sea & Civilization)

Each award-winning author will read from selected works and be available for discussion and book signing to follow. Light refreshments will be served.  We ask that people pre-register here: Maine Authors 2021 before the event to make sure we have enough seats and treats. Copies of books will be available for sale at the events as well as at Bridgton Books before and after the events.

June Update

June Update

Yay, summer! We are happy to see longer days, a little more sun, and everything in bloom. Our courtyard is lovely and our gardens are growing. Please enjoy our beautiful outside and our welcoming inside.  Masks are requested while you are in the building, and we are still limiting people to 30-minute visits.

Just a reminder to those who are returning to us, no-contact services are still available by request.  We are happy to package up your holds and bring them out to you or mail them to your home. Please call (207-647-2472) or email (bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us) for more information.

Our To-Go bags are ready for pick up. This month we have Kids Culture To-Go: What Makes a Country, Storytime Crafts To-Go, Adult Kitchen To-Go: Grill Rubs, and a few Adult Garden To-Go: Seeds left.

The Friends are planning their annual book sale for Saturday, July 10th in the Library parking lot by the Book Shed.

Our Summer Reading Challenge will run June 21-August 21st and we have something for kids, teens, and adults!

Our Lego Master Builder Construction Zone is ready for lego builders. Please register your child online or at the circulation desk.

Please remember we have special collections to check out (crockpot, air fryer, and more), as well as museum and park passes.

Our library is here to make sure everyone has new things to try, places to explore, Internet access to keep you connected, and great books to read.

Stay safe and well. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Amy Stone, Library Director
