Checking in and Checking out Items

Checking in and Checking out Items

We are very lucky here, in many ways. Today we are grateful that we have a book drop that goes both out and in, and a window right above it. We are able to offer check-in service through our book drop without any personal contact. We clean each item we receive back and remind you to clean all items when you return to your home as the safest practice.

Please use our online Holds and Purchase Suggestions. If you don’t remember your username and password, please give us a call or send an email and we will get you set up.

cloudLibrary has thousands of titles available, and Maine State Library has added more titles in the past few weeks to meet the increased demand.

All items that have been checked out will be renewed until April 30th. We never have overdue fines, and you may keep your items longer by renewing them, unless there is a hold on the item by another patron. You can renew items online, by phone, or by email.

If you are interested in a Home Delivery option, please contact us and we can arrange to mail items to you in accordance with all safety guidelines established by the CDC and Maine CDC.

Some New Resources

Some New Resources

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues here, we are so grateful to the many vendors and organizations that are making resources available online for our patrons and our community.

BookPage, our favorite book review publication here at the Bridgton Public Library, is making their April edition available online free of charge, so please check out our Special Online Resources page for the link. Please browse around, and make any purchase suggestions through our online catalog (right hand side of each page on our website has a link to our online catalog). We will be ordering new books and getting them ready for checkout as soon as we are able, so put in your order today!

TumbleBooks has made all of their databases free to all public libraries through at least August 31st. Check out our Special Online Resources page for more information as we find new educational and sometimes just plain fun activities for our kids. Miss Samantha has been working hard to gather all sorts of resources for parents and kids that are available!

There is a lot of information available from a lot of resources, so we are not going to repost anything regarding COVID-19. We do continue to add resources to our Government Resources page, Community page, Youth Services page, Special Online Resources, and Online Learning page as resources become available. Our Government Resources page includes links to MaineCare, Economic Impact Statements, Expanded Unemployment Benefits, and Parent/Caregiver Guide for Coping with COVID-19. Our Community page includes information on Food Pantries, services still available through the Bridgton Community Center, Lake Region Schools and their meal pick-up sites for ALL children 18 and under, and Bridgton News.

Please call us (207-647-2472) or email us (bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us) if you have any questions or need more information. Starting Tuesday April 7th we will be checking our messages and emails from our homes to keep you informed and connected.

Please stay well and safe, we hope you find this helpful. We miss you.
