Read Across America: April

Read Across America: April

Read Across America, a project of the National Education Association, is hoping to Inspire Stewardship during the month of April. They have put together book lists around themes to celebrate every month and encourage young readers to explore new ideas and themes. Find lists celebrating National Reading Month, and Women’s History Month.

With the arrival of spring, and as the natural world wakes up outside and all around us, it is an excellent time for us to explore, interpret, and connect to nature through books, poems, and writing. Recommended titles include:

  • Elementary- We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom
  • Middle Grade- The Total Eclipse of Nestor Lopez by Adrianna Cuevas
  • Young Adult- Butterfly Yellow by Thanhha Laitt

And get ready for May’s book list when Read Across America explores books that Develop Passion & Perseverance.
