Preptober Week 2: Developing a Story

Preptober Week 2: Developing a Story

This week we are working on developing a story to write for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). If you’re not sure what to write you can adopt a plot to help another writer finish a story. Write a short story or a collection of them or even try a different genre like poetry or a cook book. For more help and resources stop by the Bridgton Public Library or contact us at bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us or call at 207-647-2472.

National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month

Often referred to as NaNoWriMo the month of November is all about getting to write the novel you’ve always wanted to. But first comes the preparations and Preptober is about getting down the outlines, fleshing out characters, and setting the scene. Any age is welcome to participate and for more information check out their website at nanowrimo.org or ywp.nanowrimo.org for their youth writers page. Both sites give you a way to track your progress and help you connect with other writers to ask questions, bounce ideas around, and offer advice in your area through their forums page, and in their youth forums page. You can also visit the Bridgton Public Library for more resources and materials along with story prompts and more throughout October and November.
