Welcome, 2022!

We have some great things happening at Bridgton Public Library this January!

No-contact services are still available by request.  We are happy to package up your holds and bring them out to you or mail them to your home. Please call (207-647-2472) or email (bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us) for more information.

January can be cold, but we encourage you to find some joy inside and outside this season!  Join us for our seasonal Winter Reading Challenge,  weekly Writer’s Cafe, to-go bag crafts, and recommended reading and activity lists.

Join online at: https://bridgtonlibrary.beanstack.com/reader365

or pick up a print reading log and activity list at either circulation desk. Would you like us to keep track of the number of books you check out from us? Sign up for our Simple Registration at either circulation desk.  We keep it easy to participate and enjoy your winter reading.

While we are not currently gathering groups of children together, we are expanding our drop-in workshops for creating and continuing our literacy-building resources for parents and caregivers to bring home.

You will no longer need to sign up for the Lego Master Builder. We will divide up the legos into bins for parents to request as they come in to the library for up to 30 minutes per visit.

We are also excited to add a drop-in workshop Friday mornings for children’s knitting. Alicia will be available to help you make your own knitting needles, teach you how to read a pattern, and offer pointers to improve your handmade creations. All ages welcome.

Just a reminder, we offer a member’s discount for any Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance Workshop in special partnership with MWPA, please contact the library to get started! We also offer to pay the registration fee for any online UMaine Cooperative Extension Online workshop you attend, please let us know and we’ll take care of that for you!

And looking forward to 2022 we will have more Reading Challenges, drop-in workshops, and to-go bags ready for you. Let us know what else you would like to see. Our Suggestion Slip is always available on our website and our staff is always listening at the circulation desks.

Stay safe and well. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Amy Stone
