October

October

Well, we are ready for fall after a pretty wonderful summer here at the library. Our courtyard is still lovely. Please enjoy our beautiful outside and our welcoming inside.  Masks are requested while you are in the building, and we are still limiting people to 30 minute visits. We have many events happening this month, please check out our calendar for more events and details.

Please come join the Friends of Bridgton Library at the Book Shed on Saturday, October 16th from 9:00 am-noon for some great books at even better prices. All funds raised go to help the Library pay for programs and services for library users of all ages. We will also be having Storytime in the Courtyard (9-9:30) and Teen Bookmaking (11-11:30).

Our Lego Master Builders continue in Youth Services. One builder (or a builder and sibling) will be given a special Work Zone, a bucket of legos, and thirty minutes to build a Master Creation. First come, first served, we will let the legos “rest” after each use.

With the harvest wrapping up and winter on its way we’d like to offer our special collections checkouts. Try out some new recipes, preserve your harvest, or just take some time to try the Air Fryer you’ve heard so much about before you consider buying one.

We look forward to seeing you soon. Happy October!

Celebrate Family History Month

Celebrate Family History Month

October is a great time to think about our families. Whether you are a dedicated geneaologist already or want to start learning more about your ancestors, we hope you enjoy some of what the library has to offer.

For kids we will have culture and craft bags with activities for celebrating ancestors and holidays (Dia de los Muertos and All Souls Day), book lists, displays, and coloring pages.

For adults we will have a craft bag for making your own family photo ornament to decorate your Christmas tree or to display all year in your home. And of course we offer access to Ancestry.com through our memberhsip with the Maine InfoNet, where you can access more detailed information. Need some help? Racheal is available to sit with you on Fridays, 2-4.
