Looking ahead to spring we have some great in-person programs for you to put on your calendar:

We are happy to host the National Digital Equity Center here for on-site classes:  Getting News & Information Online and Email Basics. Sign-up is first come first served, and we do have public access computers and Chromebooks for those who may not have portable personal devices. We are working on scheduling a series on iPad Basics as well, we’ll let you know as soon as we have that on our calendar!

We will also be hosting our annual Chewonki program here to open our Summer Reading Program. This year’s offering is Vernal Pools, and we are limited in the number of attendees to 30.

We are getting ready to welcome spring with some new activities and things to celebrate!

Celebrate Read Across America Week (March 2-8) with some great books from our collections. We have new additions and classic favorites for all ages and interests. Looking for some recommendations? Ask our staff, we are here to help.

We are excited to introduce our Family Dewey Decimal Adventure. Knowing how to find books in the library is like learning a secret code! Through fun games and challenges, children can learn all the mysteries of the Dewey Decimal classification system we use to organize our nonfiction sections. 

This is a drop-in anytime program, designed to be self-directed by families of grammar school children. Pick up your Family Dewey Decimal Adventure Bag and start exploring. Larger groups can be accommodated with a reservation.

We are a National Digital Equity Center partner, and happy to help you sign up for online classes they offer. If you would like to request a class to be hosted here at the Library, please let us know and we will get something scheduled for you. We have 24/7 wi-fi and Chromebooks available for checkout. Interested in checking out a mobile hotspot? We have those available, too.

The Bridgton Public Library is a part of the Chickadee Library Consortium including the Harrison, Naples, Casco, and Raymond libraries. We share our resources and collections to support all of the communities we serve. In addition to over 109,000 items in our shared catalog, we also offer museum and park passes, special kits and items, and helpful and thoughtful reference service across the board. At least one of these libraries is open each day of the week, and a library card from any of these five libraries will grant you access to the collections of the entire consortium.

We have free or discounted entry passes available for The Children’s Museum, The Southworth Planetarium, and The Portland Museum of Art to check out. Stop by the Main Circulation Desk for more information and to check out a pass. The Chickadee Library Consortium also has passes to Maine State Parks, the Coastal Botanical Gardens, and other attractions as well.
