Looking to August…

Our Summer Reading Adventure is in full swing. Log the books you read to earn badges and rewards. Kids and teens earn small prizes for each book you read and raffle tickets to enter into our Grand Prizes Raffle. Adults earn raffle tickets, too. You can choose to keep track online Summer Reading Adventure or on paper, just pick up a reading log at either circulation desk.

**********************************************

We also now have our Lego Master Builder in Youth Services. One builder (or a builder and sibling) will be given a special Work Zone, a bucket of legos, and thirty minutes to build a Master Creation. Sign up through our website or ask at the Circulation Desk.

Just a reminder, we have Museum and Park Passes available for checkout on a first-come first-served basis and our Special Collections are available for checkout as well. These include Activity Kits and a Telescope in Youth Services, and special cooking tools for adults by the Main Circulation Desk.

Author Event: Irene Drago 7/24

Please join us in welcoming local authors here at Bridgton Public Library through the summer.

  • Saturday, July 24, 1-2 pm: Irene Drago (The Maine Point)
  • Award-winning author Irene M. Drago grew up in a Navy family. Before moving to Maine, she worked for the Defense Department as a Russian analyst, earned a Master of Arts degree in Spanish language and literature, and taught at the high school and college level. When she fell under the spell of a historic home in Bath, she convinced her husband to follow her to the coast of Maine where she was inspired to write Daughters of Long Reach and its sequel, The Maine Point. Ms. Drago is the recipient of a Next Generation Indie Book Award and a Spirit of Bath Award. In the summer, she and her husband enjoy piloting their boat around Casco Bay with their children and grandchildren.

Each award-winning author will read from selected works and be available for discussion and book signing to follow. Light refreshments will be served.  We ask that people pre-register here: Maine Authors 2021 before the event to make sure we have enough seats and treats. Copies of books will be available for sale at the events as well as at Bridgton Books before and after the events.
