Please join us on Saturday, May 11th, 10:00-11:30 for the UMaine Cooperative Extension Garden Planning workshop. Participants will learn how to evaluate their site for a vegetable garden, create a year-long planting schedule, plan your crop rotation, succession plantings, and cover crops. Participants take home their own plan. Funding provided by the Friends of the Bridgton Library. For more information contact the BPL at 207-647-2472.

Also, please remember that we have seeds available for checkout here in our Special Collections. We ask that you return some seeds at the end of the season for next year’s gardeners to enjoy. The funding for the Seed Library project was provided by the Friends of the Bridgton Library.

Don’t have your own space for gardening? You may want to check with the Bridgton Community Center Community Garden to see if there are beds available for sharing. We also have some excellent books on container gardening if you have a shelf or porch you would like to use.

Please join us for an InstantPot Potluck here in our meeting room on Saturday, May 4th from noon-1:00. If you’ve never used an InstantPot before, meet some people who have! For those who have a favorite recipe they would like to share, please bring it on in. There will be a $5 gift card for Food City or Hannaford for all who bring a dish. If you could also have copies of the recipe you made for people to take with you that is helpful. We will be putting all of our recipes in a Community Cookbook, too.
