Fun Outside the Library Walls

Fun Outside the Library Walls

Just a reminder that the Bridgton Public Library offers some great resources for you to use outside the Library walls. We have free passes to the Children’s Museum and Portland Museum of Art, as well as discount passes for the Wildlife Park.

We offer kids’ activity kits for checkout to keep your little researchers happy and learning through the summer, as well as a telescope that can be taken home for up to 1 week, because we know the clouds can come in anytime despite the weather predictions.

And for adults we have an InstantPot and food dehydrator available for checkout. We also have a few Art To Go kits left, but they are going fast.

We are happy to help you explore new ideas and interests. Let us know if you have any other suggestions for passes or activities.

Busy July in the Courtyard

Busy July in the Courtyard

We hope you could join us for some of the great things happening in the Library courtyard this July. We had our Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale, on one of the steamiest days of the summer! Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make this book sale happen, Friends and other volunteers! Thanks, also, to those who stopped by to browse and buy books. Altogether the Friends raised $2,300, which will be used to fund Library programs through the year.

We also hosted the Bridgton Community Band in our courtyard on two beautiful evenings. We hope everyone enjoyed the fantastic music. Thank you to the Bridgton Community Band members for coming to our Main Street location and playing for the audience seated as well as those strolling by. We have heard wonderful compliments from all.

Ideas for other community events that would benefit from our courtyard ambiance and location? Just let us know at bpldirector@bridgton.lib.me.us.

Happy Summer!
