Winter Activities

Winter Activities

With the holidays approaching and winter finally here, Bridgton Public Library has some great things to offer! We will be continuing our weekly programs, including Technology Help, Tunes for Tots, Kntting and Needlecraft, LEGO Club, and Preschool Storytime. We are adding Crafternons for Adults starting January 15th. Miss Samantha has put together a fantastic Winter Reading Program for youth starting in January, too. Join us for a SoulCollage workshop series, Daily Art Journaling workshop series, and a Grow an Indoor Herb Garden workshop presented by UMaine Cooperative Extension. Our book clubs are all going strong and meeting through the winter months. Even if you can’t attend the meetings, they select some great books that are worth a read. We will have To-Go bags for adults and youth through the winter to help keep busy hands, well…, busy. Thank you to the Friends of Bridgton Library for funding all of these programs and activities!

Workshops and Programs for Adults

We have a few special things for adults this December. including our Make Your Own Simple Swag program on Saturday, December 7th, 1:00-2:00. Use some fresh evergreens and decorations to create beautiful swags for door frames, mantles, or windows. Cherie Knight will provide the greens and decorations, as well as decorating ideas for your holiday season. Registration requested, either through the form below, at our Main Circulation Desk, or by calling 647-2472.

We also have some To-Go bags by the Main Circulation Desk, while supplies last. We have “Kitchen: Soup-Ready Seasonings” To Go all ready packed up. Make yourself something lovely as the weather gets colder… these Soup-Ready Seasonings are perfect for your favorite soup or other things as well. Try them in dips, sprinkled (lightly) on steaming veggies, or on olive oil for a great bread dipping experience.

We will have “Craft: Decorate Gift Bags” To-Go kits ready by Friday December 6th, we are waiting for a few supplies. Get creative and festive with your gift-giving this year. We get you started with some different-sized paper gift bags, paints, and sponge shapes. Have a great time being a little crafty.
