The Bridgton Public Library is a part of the Chickadee Library Consortium including the Harrison, Naples, Casco, and Raymond libraries. We share our resources and collections to support all of the communities we serve. In addition to over 109,000 items in our shared catalog, we also offer museum and park passes, special kits and items, and helpful and thoughtful reference service across the board. At least one of these libraries is open each day of the week, and a library card from any of these five libraries will grant you access to the collections of the entire consortium.
Stop by and pick up a Chickadee Consortium Summer Events Calendar to see all the wonderful events hosted by the Consortium Libraries throughout July and August.
Additionally, we will continue transporting books between the Consortium libraries throughout the Summer as usual. If you would like to pick up a book from another library in the consortium here at BPL, or vice versa, just let us know and we will get the item where it needs to go.
Our Adventure Begins at Your Library Summer Reading Challenge is underway, so swing by and pick up your adventure books and reading log. Any books you read and record on your reading log will earn tickets toward our Summer raffle. We will draw the winners for the youth and adult prizes in August.
Children and youth can pick up their Summer Reading Packets in the youth services area. Additionally, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Bridgton Library, we still have free kits containing 14 books for children under 5 available for families to take home.
We have free or discounted entry passes available for The Children’s Museum, The Maine Wildlife Park, The Southworth Planetarium, and The Portland Museum of Art to check out. Stop by the Main Circulation Desk for more information and to check out a pass.
Don’t forget, our book lists of the month are listed to the left and can be found in our online catalog. This month, the lists are Adventures, Beach Reads, and National Blueberry Month (Maine authors).
