March is Women’s History Month AND National Craft Month! To celebrate, pop in to pick up a book by a woman author and an adult or children’s craft bag to go. If you are unsure of a title or author to try out, our staff is always happy to provide recommendations.

The Bridgton Public Library is here to help with your technology needs. We have free 24/7 WiFi access in the parking lot and courtyard, as well as within the library during our normal open hours. During our open hours we also have free public access computers available in our resource room on a first-come, first-serve basis, with one hour time limits enforced when other folks are waiting. We also have a work/study cubicle available for free reservation on the days we are open. Other technology services we offer for a small fee are scanning documents, faxing, printing, and copying pages.
Additionally, we offer one-on-one technology help every week on Tues, Wed, and Fri from 2-4 pm by appointment or drop-in.

While the state and federal governments are working to ensure that reliable internet is available for all Maine residents, you can prepare by taking some classes and by trying out some new technology. Here at the library, we will offer the following classes March-May: Affordable Internet After the ACP; Chromebooks Basics; Identifying Online Frauds and Scams; and Videoconferencing with Healthcare Providers, Families, and Friends. Please call us (207-647-2472) or go online (bridgtonlibrary.org/calendar) for more information or to register.
Thanks to the generosity of the Maine Community Foundation, if you already have WiFi at home and you participate in all three of these classes, you will be able to check out a Chromebook to try out.

The Friends of Bridgton Public Library have generously supported our work on early childhood literacy with a $5,650 investment in 1,500 books to go to the homes of children. Families can stop by the Library for more information on the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program. We are distributing Pre-K Summer Reading Kits that include 14 books each to the first 30 families who sign up for our Summer Reading Program.

Our staff is always available and happy to talk about their favorite books! Try a new type of book, learn about a new topic, listen to an audiobook, or download an ebook. Happy reading!
Sincerely,
Bridgton Public Library Staff
