The
Library offers so many ways to learn and grow, please come take advantage of
some of our wonderful workshops and activities. We have seeds to start, cooking
tools to create wonderful meals, activity kits for kids and families to explore
new ideas, museum passes for checkout, and of course some amazing books to
challenge and entertain.
Our
Youth Services To-Go Bags have been such a huge success; Miss Samantha has done
an amazing job of creating these cultural and STEAM-related activities that
families can take home to do. These bags will be available through June, and
then start up again in September. For
the month of May we have Greece Cultural
Bags and Plant and Grow STEAM Bags.
For
adults and families we have an
InstantPot Potluck Lunch on Saturday
May 4th where people can bring in recipes they make, or just
come and enjoy some tasty food. Those who bring in a dish to share will receive
a gift card to Hannaford or Food City, as our way of saying thank you for
sharing! We will also be starting a Community Cookbook, for people to share
their recipes with everyone.
We
also have a Garden Planning workshop
on Saturday May 11th.
This is also a little reminder that the Bridgton
Community Center Community Garden may still have beds available,
perfect for those who don’t have yard space available.
The Friends of the Bridgton Library
are looking for new members, and for help with their annual book sale, currently scheduled for Saturday July 6th. They need some help with setting up
the tables and arranging the books, as well as for clean up at the end. If you
would like to help keep this long-standing tradition going, please contact the
Library today and let us know what you can do.
Finally,
please let us know what kind of activities you would like to see here at the
Library through the summer. The survey is available on our website (www.bridgtonlibrary.org) or
at our Main Circulation Desk.
Happy
Spring!
Sincerely,
Amy Stone
Library Director
