We are very excited to be hosting this event sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council. Due to the heat and predicted thunderstorms this evening we will be having our event inside in the Main Reading Room. Currently, our COVID19 Community Level risk is Low, so wear a mask based on your personal preference, informed by your personal level of risk. As we are unable to gather in the courtyard due to weather we will offer a zoom link for those who are not comfortable gathering inside. Please let us know by sending an email to bplreference@bridgton.lib.me.us if that’s what you prefer, and we will send you a link by 4:00 pm.

Bridgton Books will be here with books available for purchase and Phuc will be bringing a one-of-a-kind stamp for “signing” books, whether you bring in your own copy or purchase one at the event. There will be a reading and a question and answer period. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Local habitats

We’re inviting kids of all ages to be explorers and share their finds with our field Specimen Touch Table here in Youth Services. Gather a perfect leaf or some beautiful rocks and bring them in to the library starting Tuesday, July 19th. We’ll take a look at what is the same and what is different from your yards. And plan ahead, we’ll have a water habitat Specimen Touch Table starting Tuesday, July 26th and we’ll take a look at what is different in freshwater and seawater habitats.

No animals, please. We want to make sure we are good stewards and don’t remove creatures from their homes.
