Celebrate National Book Month at the Bridgton Public Library

Start the new year with some great books and great conversations.  We are celebrating National Book Month with a few book lists. We went through some Most Notable 2018 lists (New York Times, Washington Post, and Book Page). The full list is available through our online catalog:

https://koha.bridgton.lib.me.us/

We have set up purchase suggestions through our online catalog, so if you have a book you would like to recommend please do. If you would rather call or stop by and talk with someone, we will put in the request for you. If you put in a suggestion, we put a Hold on it and give you a call when we receive it.

We can’t always add every recommendation to our collection, but for books that are of interest to you, we can also put in an interlibrary loan request at no charge to you. We request the book from another library, and give you a call when it’s ready for pickup.

And if you love to talk about the books you read, we have many book clubs to choose from. We have a Nonfiction Book Club, Literary Club, Book Bags, and Bookies Group that read a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction. Please check our online calendar: http://www.bridgtonlibrary.org/calendar

for upcoming titles and book club meeting times.

Happy New Year, and Happy Reading!

Sincerely,

Amy Stone Library Director

Interested in a Discussion?

We have learned a lot from our surveys through the year. One important thing is that people would like to see more opportunities to participate in civil discourse discussing current events in our community. We have an opportunity to host a dialogue on The Presidency here in our community and want to hear from you:

So please take this quick poll and tell us if you are interested in this sort of forum. All ages are encouraged to participate and listen. Your thoughts matter, to the Library and to your community.
